Some services have a defined starting price or minimum charge. Product-development packages apply to qualifying projects within a stated scope. More complex, open-ended or production-dependent work is priced through a custom quotation.

Package suitability depends on complexity, number of components, available information, required revisions, prototype process and intended use – not physical size alone. We confirm the appropriate package after reviewing the project.
For a simple single component or straightforward product with a clear requirement and limited uncertainty.
Suitable for straightforward brackets, holders, spacers, adapters, covers, basic enclosures and comparable simple parts.
For a more detailed component or simple two-part product requiring additional fitting, features or prototype review.
For a demanding component, small assembly or product requiring several development and prototype stages.
For larger assemblies, several design directions, complex mechanisms, electronics integration, extensive research, substantial reverse engineering or preparation for injection moulding.
Custom jigs, fixtures, assembly aids and production-support tools can be developed through the Product Development service. Where production-ready CAD is already supplied, manufacturing is priced through FDM or SLA printing plus any agreed finishing or assembly.
For new CAD models, component development, product-shaped modelling, design modification and practical design support.
For dimensional changes, feature changes, damaged or unsuitable files, print preparation and repair of existing models.
Convert paper drawings, scanned drawings, PDFs or legacy dimensional information into a usable 3D CAD model.
More freeform, ergonomic or visually shaped modelling can be provided where suitable. Complex work is custom quoted.
For a simple part or drawing sheet supplied as a PDF manufacturing/reference drawing.
Section views, detail views, complex tolerancing, extensive dimensions, assembly drawings, bills of materials, multiple components and later revisions are additional. Formal engineering approval, certification and regulated design verification are not included.
CAD work is charged at £45 per hour including VAT, subject to a minimum total design service charge of £60 including VAT. The minimum applies until the calculated hourly amount exceeds £60.
For a suitable simple object brought to the Maikoot Limited Swindon workspace.
Detailed mesh repair, editable CAD reconstruction, redesign, correction of missing geometry, replacement-part development and printing are additional. Multiple-object discounts may apply where several suitable items can be captured in the same session.
For noise removal, alignment improvement, unwanted-data removal, hole repair, remeshing and preparation of a more usable mesh.
May combine 3D scanning, physical measurement, mesh processing, CAD reconstruction, correction of worn geometry, redesign, prototype production and testing.
Simple measurement or scan-based reconstruction may be included in a Product Development package where expressly confirmed in the quotation.
Planned customer-site scanning within approximately five miles of the Maikoot Limited Swindon workspace.
The call-out charge is in addition to scanning, mesh processing, CAD reconstruction, parking or unusual access costs and travel outside the included area. The boundary may be adjusted slightly by prior agreement.
Suitable for functional prototypes, replacement components, jigs, fixtures, end-use parts and low-volume production.
Final printing cost depends on material, part size, geometry, print time, orientation, supports, quantity and finishing requirements.
Suitable for fine-detail components, smoother surfaces, clear parts and selected functional resin applications.

For work beyond routine preparation, including more involved finishing, threaded inserts and straightforward assembly.

Pricing depends on component geometry, material, quantity, production time, inserts, assembly, finishing, packaging, lead time and repeat-order requirements.
Support may include project review, CAD preparation, design considerations for moulding, partner quotation requests, tooling discussions, sample review and project coordination.
Maikoot Limited does not operate injection-moulding machinery in-house. Moulded production is supported through selected UK-based and overseas manufacturing partners.
The £15* setup fee is waived when the eligible printing subtotal reaches £149.70* (£179.64 including VAT) or more. The threshold applies to printing only, not CAD, scanning, delivery or unrelated services.

Final pricing is confirmed after reviewing the available files, drawings, photographs, scans, sample parts, materials, quantity, complexity, finishing requirements and lead time. Additional work outside an agreed package is quoted separately.

Work outside the agreed scope, additional revisions, specialist materials, delivery, third-party charges, tooling, testing, certification and file release are additional unless expressly included in the quotation. See our Terms & Conditions.

Where necessary, we will ask about dimensions, material, finish or intended use before pricing the work.
We provide a quotation stating the agreed scope, deliverables, lead time and price.
New customers are normally required to pay in full before design, production or procurement begins. Larger projects may use deposits, milestone payments or staged invoices as stated in the quotation.
Thirty-day payment terms may be offered at our discretion to approved, established Business Customers, normally where a valid purchase order has been supplied.
Business quotations may show prices excluding VAT, with VAT added at the applicable rate. Consumer quotations show the total payable including VAT.
The customer retains ownership of pre-existing concepts, designs, drawings, files, information and intellectual property supplied to Maikoot Limited.
Unless the quotation or another written agreement expressly states otherwise, Maikoot Limited retains ownership of CAD models, editable source files, meshes, technical drawings, manufacturing files and design-development content created during the project.
Design and development prices cover the agreed service, prototypes, parts and deliverables stated in the quotation. They do not automatically include transfer of intellectual-property ownership, editable source CAD files or unrestricted manufacturing files. File release, an agreed licence or full assignment of ownership may be available separately and may involve an additional charge.
The final quotation will state whether any STL, STEP, DXF, PDF, native CAD file, licence or manufacturing rights are included. This summary remains consistent with our Terms & Conditions.
