Use one service or combine several into a practical development route.
Maikoot Limited supports businesses, manufacturers, product teams and private customers with custom projects involving product development, CAD design, reverse engineering, 3D scanning, functional 3D printing and low-volume manufacturing.
Start with the information you already have. We can help identify the most useful next step.
Some customers need a single CAD modification or printed component. Others need support across several stages, from defining the requirement and developing the design to producing prototypes, replacement parts or repeatable batches.
Turn an early idea into a physical product that can be reviewed, tested and improved.
We support practical development from the initial requirement through CAD, prototype production, fit and function review, design changes and preparation for the next manufacturing stage.
Create new 3D models, improve existing files or prepare designs for prototyping and manufacture.
Our CAD work is based around how the part will be made, fitted and used rather than only how it looks on screen.
More artistic, character-based or retail-focused modelling may be directed to Blue Box Goblin where that is the more appropriate route.
Recreate unavailable, damaged or obsolete components when original drawings or CAD files are missing.
Depending on the geometry and project requirements, we may use physical measurements, photographs, scan data or a combination of methods to reproduce or improve the component.
3D scanning is one tool within reverse engineering. Not every part requires scanning, and scanning alone does not automatically produce clean, editable CAD.
Produce prototypes, replacement components, production aids and practical end-use parts using FDM and SLA resin printing.
We provide material guidance and consider the required strength, fit, tolerance, appearance, environment and end use before production.
Produce repeatable small batches for specialist products, replacement components, bridge production and requirements that are not suited to high-volume manufacturing.
Low-volume production can be used after a prototype has been tested or where conventional tooling is not yet commercially justified.
Final pricing and lead time depend on part geometry, material, quantity, finishing requirements and available production capacity.
We can support injection-moulding projects through trusted UK-based and overseas manufacturing partners.
This service is intended for products that have progressed beyond prototyping and where tooling and higher-volume production may be commercially appropriate.
Maikoot Limited does not operate injection-moulding machinery in-house. Moulded production is provided through selected manufacturing partners.
The following capabilities may be used as individual services or combined with a wider development, reverse-engineering or manufacturing project.
Convert paper drawings, scanned drawings, PDFs or legacy dimensional information into editable 3D CAD models.
Repair incomplete or unsuitable files, change dimensions, add or remove features and prepare models for prototyping or manufacture.
Recreate obsolete, unavailable or damaged parts and improve weak or worn features where appropriate.
Develop practical tools for holding, locating, protecting, assembling or repeating production and workshop tasks.
Support removal, sanding, smoothing, priming, painting, fitting and assembly can be provided where suitable for the material and project.
Choose materials around mechanical loading, outdoor exposure, heat, chemical contact, flexibility, appearance and intended use.
More freeform, ergonomic or visually shaped models can be developed where suitable, alongside our main technical CAD work.
Retail, character-based or product-led creative work may be directed to Blue Box Goblin where appropriate.
Planned support for scanning suitable components and objects at customer locations.
In-house scanning and part drop-off are available now.
Each service has its own page covering the process, what we can produce, worked examples, pricing guidance and frequently asked questions.

Not every project needs every stage. The quotation will confirm what is included for the specific project.
Review what is available, confirm the requirement and develop the agreed CAD direction.
Produce a practical prototype or first sample for fit, function and assembly review.
Apply the agreed changes and prepare the design for repeat production or another process.
We support one-off prints, prototype cycles and low-volume production. For repeat orders, the approved revision, material, finish, quantity and packaging can be agreed before production begins.
Where appropriate, a first article or sample can be reviewed before the full batch is produced. Repeat orders are subject to current material availability, supplier batches, machine capacity and the continued suitability of the stored production files.
Maikoot Limited does not operate injection-moulding machinery in-house. Where third-party manufacturing is involved, the quotation will state whether Maikoot Limited is acting as the principal supplier, as a project coordinator, or as a referral source only.
Third-party lead times are estimates. Customer approval may be required before tooling, samples or production are committed. See our Terms & Conditions for how tooling ownership and third-party costs are handled.
Material choice depends on heat, UV exposure, chemicals, flexibility, stiffness, impact, appearance and required service life. We can recommend a practical starting point after reviewing the application.
Published starting prices for every service are listed on the Pricing page. A binding scope and price are confirmed in our quotation.
Maikoot.com is the correct route for custom, quote-based design, scanning, prototyping, replacement-part and manufacturing projects.
Our core focus is supporting businesses, manufacturers and product teams, but private customers are also welcome where they require a custom or specialist service.
Blue Box Goblin is the product and retail side of Maikoot Limited. It handles selected filament, ready-made clips, boxes, artistic products and other 3D-printed items, together with marketplace sales.
You do not need a finished CAD file to begin.
Send the drawings, files, photographs, scans or physical information you currently have. We will review the requirement and help establish the most useful next step.
